Today’s CPI inflation report came in a lot stronger than folks expected and in fact, there were numerous signs that not only is inflation not peaking, but actually, it may be accelerating. I’ll get to that in a moment, but I feel it’s my duty to report President Biden’s response. “Exxon made more money than God this year,” and then he proceeded to bash the oil companies for not drilling.

Why aren’t they drilling? Because they make more money and they buy back their stock, which should be taxed. I’m paraphrasing his indecipherable word salad, but that’s the gist of it — blame big oil.

Kudlow: I’m sticking with Joe Manchin

FOX Business host weighs in on the Democrats’ spending spree on ‘Kudlow.’

We begin tonight with, “Save America, kill the bill.”

One of those thumb-sucking news stories planted by progressive lefties to a Wall Street Journal reporter suggesting that the radicals were somehow willing to negotiate with Joe Manchin and Manchin was somehow willing to play.

As I say, it was a silly story with no basis in fact. The Washington Times had a much more accurate story that suggested Manchin is not negotiating with anybody on big government socialism, sometimes called “Build Back Better” or “Build Back Smaller” or even “Build Back Chunkier”…but then the King himself, Joe Manchin, put an end to all of it today, which is why we love him. He’s been incredibly consistent.

Kudlow: Go woke, go broke

‘Kudlow’ discusses Biden’s failing policies and the President’s low approval rating.

The biggest news I’ve seen today which hasn’t gotten nearly the attention it deserves is when Sen. Joe Manchin told a Fox News reporter that he has had no conversations with the Biden administration since his last interview with Fox News. Take a listen:

MANCHIN: There’s been no conversations after I made my statement. I think it’s basically, you know, and I was very clear. I just I feel as strongly today as I did then. I’m really not going to talk about Build Back Better anymore, because I think I’ve been very clear on that. There are no negotiations going on at this time.

So folks, first of all, good for Sen. Manchin for holding his ground. Second, I told you! The guy is not going to cave. I fully expect him in the next couple of days

Last Sunday, after Senator Manchin announced his “no” vote on Fox News, Madam Psaki quickly responded. No generosity. No “let’s talk about it in the new year.”

She ripped into Manchin. Undoubtedly, she was following the orders of the president or chief of staff Ron Klain or domestic policy adviser Susan Rice. It was more a temper tantrum than a policy response.

That’s no way to win friends and influence people. But all the far-left progressives had been going after Manchin.

‘Kudlow’ host to discuss President Biden’s talk with Putin amid Russia-Ukraine tensions.

There wasn’t much in today’s papers about the Russian Ukraine grab and the Putin-Biden meeting.

But late in the day, along comes a jaw-dropping news story from the Associated Press that administration officials have suggested that the U.S. will press Ukraine to formally cede a measure of autonomy to Eastern Ukrainian lands now controlled by Russia-backed separatists, who rose up against Kiev in 2014. This is the so-called Minsk Agreement, brokered in 2015 after Russia annexed Crimea – a highly ambiguous deal.

Also, the AP is reporting that senior State Department officials have told Ukraine that NATO membership is unlikely to be approved in the next decade.

In other words, Putin gets what he wants. Namely, no NATO for Ukraine, and he can take over the Donbas region in Eastern Ukraine any old time he wants.
