Some major Democratic lawmakers are accusing Amazon of profiting off the unfold of COVID-19 and vaccine misinformation.

Amazon is less than tension from Democrats in Congress around how its algorithms promote hoax COVID-19 cures, like the livestock dewormer ivermectin, as properly as anti-vaccination statements and other professional medical misinformation.

Rep. Adam Schiff of California and Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts despatched letters this week to CEO Andy Jassy pressing for info on Amazon’s misinformation policies and what the corporation is doing to quit its units from recommending guides and other products and solutions connected to falsehoods about the pandemic and vaccines.
